File number: ssba0251

© South American Pictures/ Marion Morrison

The pontoon Mulus III, 250 feet in length and 79 feet wide, is anchored between the Great Britain and the tug Varius II. The pontoon was used as a platform for the first stages of the salvage. The light coloured strips on the Great Britain are temporary walkways of new wood.
