In 1969 and 1970 Tony and Marion Morrison were in the Falkland Islands making films for BBC TV. One of the films The Great Iron Ship directed by Ray Sutcliffe followed the salvage of Brunel's Great Britain. Marion also covered the story for the Observer Magazine.

The majority of the 1969 colour photos [transparencies] were taken on Kodachrome 25 [25 ASA/ ISO] The 1970 colour photos [transparencies] were on Ektachrome [64 ASA /ISO ] and a few were on Ektachrome High Speed [160 ASA / ISO] 35mm film. These films were processed in England. The black and white negatives were largely on Kodak Plus X 35mm or Tri X 35mm film. A few were on Ilford stock. Most of the black and white were processed in the Falkland Islands using the darkroom of local photographer John Lennard.

Cameras used: Two Nikon F bodies.[ SLRs without light meters]. Lightmeters were hand-held Westonmasters. Nikkor lenses were individual 28m / 50mm/ 105mm / 200mm for 35mm. A British made Microflex twin lens reflex was used for 6 x 6 film.
