French Guiana/ Guyane. Statue of Felix Eboue in the Place des Palmistes. Born in Cayenne in 1884 he is Guyane's most famous son. He was a French Colonial administrator and as Governor General of French Equatorial Africa he organised support for General de Gaulle's Free French forces in World War II. He died in 1944.
