Chile: the small town of Puerto Varas on the shore of Lake Llanquihue was a centre for German immigrants. Most famously built in Bavarian style is the Iglesia del Sagrado Corazón, constructed in Chilean oak in 1918 and modelled on the Marienkirche in Germany's Black Forest.
