Belize.   The Maya site of Xunantunich was built during the Classic period (AD250-900) and El Castillo (The Castle) at 40m high is one of the tallest Maya structures in the country. The Castle is decorated with a stucco frieze showing human and animal figures, and abstract designs. The frieze has now been cleaned and restored.
