Acoma Pueblo, New Mexico. The Catholic mission church of San Esteban Rey. This massive adobe structure was started by Fray Juan Ramírez in 1629 and completed in 1640. Timbers on the roof are 40 feet long and a foot square and each was carried by Acoma men from the San Mato Mountains over 20 miles away.
