Olmec, Mexico. This carving known as Altar 4 was discovered in 1925 and is considered the best preserved of the La Venta work. The figure is linked by a cord near the feet to other figures carved in relief on each side of the altar. Parque Museo de La Venta. Estado de Tabasco, Mexico
