Inca capital, Cuzco, Peru. At the heart of the city the Plaza de Armas, known in Inca times as Huacaypata [Aucaypata]. On the far side of the Plaza stands the Jesuit Church of La Compañia de Jesus built in the late 17th century. It occupies part of an Inca kancha or enclosure known as Amaru Kancha - 'snake kancha'.
